First- This is what Kids Run Long Island does:

 Through our Blue Point Turkey Trot and our 4k Womens Run/Walk, we engage the community to help raise funds to support our Long Island youth.  We believe in helping children and teens develop self-esteem and self-worth to encourage a positive and healthy life-style and to develop healthy interests such as sports or the arts. 

We provide scholarships for youth, donate to youth LI non-profits and now have an exciting new project to support.  The Inspire together LI project provides grants to kids who want to impact our community and create a community project to make Long Island stronger. 

What we do:
1.  We provide - Scholarships for youth on Long Island - kids who apply and demonstrate a love or passion for sports or the arts as well as being a community leader.

2.  Inspire Together Long Island- kids ages 5 to 19 years old apply for a grant of $500 to make an impact on our local community through community projects.  A recent project was a girl scout troop who put together craft boxes for children in the hospital so the kids had something to do while being treated.  More info at www.inspiretogether.org

3.  We provide - Donations to youth non-profits to support their work- We recently gave a donation to Hope for Youth to support foster teens in getting their driver's license. A few other non-profits we donated to:  Williams Warriors, ISF, Starfish (all Long Island local non-profits serving LI youth)
