It's time for the Kids Fun Run Series!! - 3 RACES ON 3 SUNDAYS at Cedar Creek Park in Seaford. Please read below to get the details to register. We hope you can all make it!
WHAT IS KIDS FUN RUN SERIES? - 3 RACES
There will be 3 races this spring as a fundraiser for Kids Run Long Island. Races will be timed (but no chip).
Child will be given a bib, CUSTOM award medals, ribbons, free race photos, and Kids Run Long Island t-shirt depending on how many races they are registered for. Kids ages 3 to 11 yrs old can participate. GUARANTEED SHIRT ONLY TILL 9/25 (We will have extra shirts but may not be the size you ask for.)
SCHEDULE on day of races: (subject to change- please be at race location between 4:30 & 4:45pm)
BIB PICK UP - 3:45 pm to 4:30pm
OPENING CEREMONY- 4:55pm
First wave starts at 5pm sharp.
3 year olds- run 100 meters (about .06 of a mile)
4 year olds run 250 meters (about .15 of a mile)
5 year olds run 250 meters (about .15 of a mile)
6 year olds run 350 meters (about .21 of a mile)
7 year olds run 350 meters (about .21 of a mile)
8 year olds run 400 meters (about .25 of a mile)
9 year olds run 800 meters (about .50 mile) - 9 year olds may race up to 1200 meters but must request wave change.
10 and 11 year olds run 1200 meters (about .75 of a mile)
(This may change based on field conditions)
We are usually done by 6pm with all waves (these are all estimates which is the best we can do when children are involved).
Children must stay in their age group distances except 9 year olds may race up to 1200 meters.

At this race, each child will hand a flower to their family to show their love and thankfulness.
Race #3 - Sunday- October 20th at 5pm:
At this race, each child will be given a custom medal for their great effort.

REGISTRATION WILL OPEN August 8, 2019 at 6am
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST? CAN MY CHILD DO 1 RACE?
Register for all three races - Cost $48* for all three races. (INCLUDES EVENT T-SHIRT (Guaranteed shirt only till 9/25), Custom FINISHING AWARD MEDAL WITH NECK RIBBON, RACE BIB & 2 RIBBONS, AND FREE RACE PHOTOS)
For one race (race #1 on 10/6 race or race #2 on 10/13 race)- Cost is $17* each race- includes participation ribbon and race bib.
For one race - race #3 on 10/20- Cost is $25* - includes a finishing medal with neck ribbon and race bib.
*Registration prices go up on 9/18/19 (3 races are $53/ race #1 or #2 are $22/ race #3 is $30 after 9/17/19)

WHAT IS INCLUDED IN REGISTRATION?
If your child is registered for all three races, he/she will receive event t-shirt, ribbons at race 1 and 2 and a FINISHING AWARD MEDAL FOR EVERY CHILD at race 3, and free race photos (even if your child does not attend all three races, he/she will receive these items.) Each child will be wearing a race bib. If your child is registered for one race (race #1 or #2), he/she will receive a participation ribbon and race bib. If your child is registered for one race (race #3), he/she will receive an AWARD MEDAL and race bib.
RACE BIB PICK UP
Day of race at from 3:15pm to 4:30pm sharp.
WHAT HAPPENS IN BAD WEATHER?
The races will go forward in rain or shine unless there is a dangerous situation such as lightning. To be updated, check this website up to one hour before the race. Cancellations will be posted by 3:30pm on race day. Due to the cost of the race, there will be no refunds. IMPORTANT!!!!! THE ONLY RACE THAT WILL HAVE A RAIN DATE WILL BE THE LAST RACE (RACE #3). If that race is cancelled due to weather, we will have a rain date of SATURDAY, October 26, 2019 at 5PM. (so if race 1 or 2 cancelled, no rain date. If race 3 cancelled, rain date 10/26. If 10/26 cancelled- no rain date)
CAN WE REGISTER ON THE DAY OF THE RACE?
Space is limited. There will be no day of race registration IF race fills up prior to first race. It is strongly recommended to register before September 18, 2019. Registration prices increase on 9/18 2019. Guaranteed shirt only till 9/25.
Refunds?
Registration is non-refundable.
What if my child has to miss a race?
Your child is still entitled to his/her custom medal if they are signed up for all three races. For us to mail it to you, it will cost $5. We will arrange payment and mailing after the third race. If you know you will miss the third race, you can arrange to get it at the 1st or 2nd race. Email the race director at kidsrunlongisland@gmail.com

What to tell your child about this event
Tell your child that this is a wonderful opportunity to run and walk and get healthy. Let them know that it may be easy or it may be challenging but after they are done, they will feel great. By participating in this fundraiser for Kids Run Long Island, they will feel good about their health and about helping other kids in our community have the opportunity to get healthy too.
