It's time for the Kids Fun Run Series!! - 3 RACES ON 3 SUNDAYS IN SAYVILLE. Please read below to get the details to register. We hope you can all make it!
WHAT IS KIDS FUN RUN SERIES? - 3 RACES
There will be 3 races this spring as a fundraiser for Kids Run Long Island. Races will be timed (but no chip). Child will be given a bib, award medals, ribbons, and Kids Run Long Island t-shirt depending on how many races they are registered for. Kids ages 3 to 10 yrs old can participate.
SCHEDULE on day of races: (subject to change- please be at race location between 4:30 & 4:45pm) BIB PICK UP - 3:45 pm to 4:30pm OPENING CEREMONY- 4:55pm First wave starts at 5pm sharp. First wave starts at 5pm sharp. WAVE ORDER AND WAVE COMBINATIONS WILL OCCUR. AS of 9/29/23- These are the waves: Wave 1 - 3 year olds - .06 of a mile Wave 2- 3 year olds - .06 of a mile Wave 3 - 4 year olds -.15 of a mile Wave 4 - 4 year olds - .15 of a mile Wave 5- 5 year olds -.15 of a mile Wave 6- 6 year olds- .20 of a mile Wave 7 - 7 year olds -.25 of a mile Wave 8 - 8,9 & 10 year olds. - .50 of a mile There will be 1,2 & 3 place awards for: Boys- 10 yrs old Girls - 10 yrs old Boys - 8 & 9 yrs old Girls- 8 & 9 yrs old
This is subject to change based on participation and field conditions.
We are usually done by 6pm with all waves (these are all estimates which is the best we can do when children are involved). Children must stay in their age group distance unless they want to move to an older age group.
WHEN ARE THE RACES?
Race #1 - Sunday- Oct. 1 at 5pm: At this race, every child will receive a ribbon Race #2 - Sunday- Oct. 15 at 5pm: At this race, each child will hand a flower to their family to show their love and thankfulness. Race #3 -Sunday- Oct. 22 at 5pm: At this race, each child will be given a custom medal for their great effort.
WHERE ARE THE RACES?
FIRST RACE STARTS PROMPTLY AT 5PM LOCATION- SAYVILLE GRANGE PARK on corner of Broadway Avenue and Montauk Highway in Sayville NY (address - 10 Broadway Avenue, Sayville, NY 11782)
PARKING!!- Participants must park in the parking lot north of the field (just south of the baseball fields) in the designated parking spots and then walk south to the event at the park. No parking on the field for safety reasons. PLEASE LEAVE ENOUGH TIME TO GET YOUR BIB IF YOU HAVEN'T GOTTEN IT ON AT Sayville Running Co. RACES START PROMPTLY AT 5PM.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST? CAN MY CHILD DO 1 RACE?
Register for all three races - Cost $65* (also $5 discount per ADDITIONAL child when registering siblings For all three races. (INCLUDES EVENT T-SHIRT, Custom FINISHING AWARD MEDAL WITH NECK RIBBON, RACE BIB & 1 RIBBON, ($5 discount per child - when you register siblings.) For one race (race #1 on 10/1 race - Cost is $25* - includes participation ribbon and race bib. For one race (race#2 on 10/15 race- Cost is $25* - includes race bib and flower at finish For one race - race #3 on 10/23- Cost is $33* - includes a finishing medal with neck ribbon and race bib. *Registration prices go up on SEPTEMBER 1.
WHAT IS INCLUDED IN REGISTRATION?
If your child is registered for all three races, he/she will receive an event t-shirt, ribbons at race 1, flower on race 2, and a FINISHING AWARD MEDAL FOR EVERY CHILD at race 3 (even if your child does not attend all three races, he/she will receive these items.) Each child will be wearing a race bib. If your child is registered for one race (race 1) he/she will receive a participation ribbon and race bib. If your child is registered for one race (race 2), he/she will receive flower. If your child is registered for one race (race #3), he/she will receive an AWARD MEDAL and race bib.

RACE BIB PICK UP- TWO WAYS TO PICK UP:
1. Strongly recommended- Race bib pick up will be on Saturday, SEPT. 30 from 11 am to 3 pm at the Sayville Running Co. OR 2. at the race on day of race from 3:45 pm to 4:30pm sharp. (IF YOU ARE ONLY DOING ONE RACE, YOU CAN PICK UP ON THAT DATE)
WHAT HAPPENS IN BAD WEATHER?
The races will go forward in rain or shine unless there is a dangerous situation such as lightning. To be updated, check this website up to one hour before the race. Cancellations will be posted by 3:30pm on race day. Due to the cost of the race, there will be no refunds. THE ONLY RACE THAT WILL HAVE A RAIN DATE WILL BE THE LAST RACE (RACE #3). If that race is cancelled due to weather, we will have a rain date of Monday, Oct. 23, 2023
WHAT HAPPENS IF MY CHILD CAN'T MAKE THE 3RD RACE? CAN WE GET THE MEDAL?
Yes, you can get the medal. You will be sent a paypal invoice for $5.00 for shipping and we will mail it to you or you can arrange for pick up in Sayville.
CAN WE REGISTER ON THE DAY OF THE RACE?
Space is limited. There will be NO DAY OF registration if race fills up prior to first race. We usually sell out.
Refunds?
Registration is non-refundable.

What to tell your child about this event
Tell your child that this is a wonderful opportunity to run and walk and get healthy. Let them know that it may be easy or it may be challenging but after they are done, they will feel great. By participating in this fundraiser for Kids Run Long Island, they will feel good about their health and about helping other kids in our community have the opportunity to get healthy too.
